Call to arms against gray society.
In a society where the dullest of all colors becomes the most prominent, questions arise about the nature of that society, and what those who have the power to shape and control it's morphology desire as a result of this, and other actions.
It's a dull city, for a dull world, run by dull people for dull ends, of which are void of all life, and joy.
We seek an end to this.
We want to bring the walls, the streets, the alleys, and the world to life. This is what we mean when we say “The Walls are alive”, that we want to bring life and joy to our lives, and the lives of others, too. We don't want dull lives, we want lives worth living. Lives of joy, happiness, and excitement. Where every wall has a story to tell, a picture, a poem, a stanza, to remind us that we aren't alone.
Confronted with apathy, and the destruction of communities by advertising, and buildings which aspire to reach the sky, we seek to cover them with color; to depict life.
Funnily enough, for ordinary people to bring color, joy, and stories to the streets, is criminal, whilst for the rich to cover our walls, train stations, buses, and everywhere-else with advertising is legitimate and legal.
Thus, we are criminals, because we dare to not only say no, but to resist dullness, apathy, and destruction with color, joy, and creativity.
We seek to destroy the gray society by creating a colorful one, full of life and hope.
We dare to challenge the legitimacy of law, due to it's inability to asses the nature of a 'crime', and it's inability to understand the conditions which led to it. It naturally perpetuates what we experience; dullness. Thus, we defy it.
But we aim for this to be more than explanation of our aims, this is a call to arms, to pens, to paint cans, brushes, tins, textas, chalk, and all forms of creative street expression.
This is a call to arms to bring the walls to life.
Because when we paint, scrawl and draw on the walls, the walls are alive.
Imagine a city where every billboard and public advert was an artwork, a poem, or a song; where life was depicted in every corner of the city – where joy was prevalent, rather than apathy, and despair.
This is the world we aspire to create.
The Walls are Alive.
