I'm with Kuro - otherwise known as el n00bre. Indeed, it is better. Kuro, it is currently being discussed. What's needed will b e up here soon. Just want to make sure there's no objections to it within the "collective" right now.

PMing me would have done something because I could have told how to go about getting the information. Even better, to be involved in the actual creating of that information.
Its posted publicly so people know where we are. Where you can get food. Where you can sit down share a meal, some ideas, some stories.
If you want to get involved, just email FNB. That's it. And you will get the information. There is more to the internet than the Alarm forum. There is no need to rely on a secondary source for information that can be easily gathered in another way that will be up to date and allow for greater input. There is no obligation for FNB to post here. If you need information why not just take the time to email?
Getting involved is more than just being in the right place at the right time. It is encouraged that the best way to be involved is to be part of deciding when that time and place will be, and to do that you just have to send an email. To not be involved in the decision making and relying on a few to make the decisions and give the orders just creates a heirarchy, and that's not what we're about.
Is there any reason that the word collective is in quotation marks?
As I said earlier, the decision making process of FNB is a participatory one. Therefore there is the responsibilty for people to be involved in the communication process. We can't just wait until everyone finally decides to reply to an email if there is an action that needs to be organised quickly.
The major objection to have information like this on the site here is that fact that some people would not appreciate having their home address (the place we cook) posted for the whole internet to see.

I think Adelaide has a bunch of independant people who run a FNB every now and then. Such as myself and my friends, who're running one at this big gig.
But there's been other ones run at other gigs by people i don't know, i'm not sure if it's just that we seem to run everything just with people we're familiar with, or if it's some kind of elitism.. elitism seems to be fairly prevalent even amongst those who state themselves against it. even me. except it only applies to two people. and it's not so much "i'm better than them." it's more "these people suck, and EVERYONE EVER is better than them."
But anywho, making friends with night fill managers at supermarkets seems to be a really effective way of gaining free shit without sifting through Phenol filled dumpsters.. xxxx

Bringing them down from the inside ey *taps nose*
There should be a stick thread with crap on how to run FNB, like.. evolved information on it that you don't get from their website.
like.. to store our food, i found 3, 25L old detergent containers. Made of strong plastic. I sawed the tops off, rinsed them with water, then washed them with vinegar and a scrubbing brush. You know there's no more detergent when it stops fizzing when you spray it on. Then when we fill them with food, we'll just duct tape the lids back on and we'll be all set.
For plates, there's a dumpster near mine that's the one for an airline catering shop. There's always big bags filled with empty snack pack things, and the containers the snacks come in are made of a lid and base, both can be used as a plate/bowl, so i emptied heaps of them and took them home, separated the lid from base and washed them. YAY free dishes.

Wow that airline catering shop thing sounds real cool.
We also came up with the idea to cut the bottoms off the top of soft drink, juice, water bottles and use the bottom as a bowl, cup, plate, etc.
We also use them polystyrene boxes that vegetables get transported in to transport food or to keep food as a "pantry" in. We should also use them for a FNB herb garden or something. I like that idea.
We should start a revolutionary supermarket workers union or something like that. Maybe we should get our own little space on the board for supermarket workers only. Haha, and you lose access to it when you sell out for a higher paying and more satisfying job.

Also, one thing I've found out. If you wanna get a few tips/ideas on Food Not Bombs, check out Melbourne cos they really seem to know what they're doing.
