I was searching the net for something anarchistic...(The dress seems to be all black...that's cool I can do that) I thought of trying to get my hands on a Black Armband with say a white Anarchy logo on it. It's seems like all they have now are WW2 Nazi replicas (wth?) or sports related Velcro ones (how ghey). Custom made ones seem to be overseas... Does anyone know where I could get a nice cloth armband with a nice (A) logo on it? If not, I'll try making my own, with a patch or something. Anywhere to get patches in Melbourne?
Thank you comrades.
EDIT: spelling.

Well, honestly, I reakon a DIY one would be by far cooler than any bought one, I really like DIY fashion. And I mean bassically anything thats home made, it dosen't have to be made in any particular style. I'd seriously suggest making your own. Buy a white piece of cloth, make a stencil, you know.
As for patches in Melbourne, Smoke Dreams on Flinders street, opposite the station and just a few doors towards Spencer Street from the 7\11 on the Elizabeth street corner, has a large range of patches. The majority are music related, but I have a few cool anti-fa patches and badges from there, aswell as alot of music related ones. I think there are a few anarchy ones aswell.
Could always try different stalls at queen vic market, some of them have different DIY style accesories and trinkets.
Apart from that I'm not sure... But DIY is definatly bloody cool.

Why the desire to dress 'like an anarchist'? I don't understand...
Anarchism is not about conforming to a particular style or fashion - it's not like goth culture or what have you.
Besides, there's really nothing anarchistic about any clothes, least of all black ones - it's like anarchists have uniforms.
And yeah
Homophobia and anarchism don't go together either (N)

I've never really understood the anarchist aesthetic thing. What exactly is it? I think people think that black blocs are much more of a representation of anarchism, and anarchists, than they actually are.
If you actually want one of those things, there are places that sell them. Such as Smoke Dreams and what not.
Although, I have to admit, Malatesta oozed steeze. Haha

I see. So much for representation of one's ideas. Don't get me wrong - I don't want to "dress in uniform"... But those armbands are cool. EDIT: "ghey" means crap, not anything to do with homosexuality...In my head anyway I don't agree with homophobia either.

So it's pure coincidence that 'ghey' sounds exactly like gay? o0
Yeah, i dunno if i buy that - i reckon the urban dictionary covered this pretty well:
+
It's like spelling fag with a 'ph' or sumtin, as if callin someone a 'phag' is any less homophobic.
Cool, then please don't perpetuate it by continuing the crude gay = bad stereotype - if not your homophobic, then simply don't use homophobic expressions (coz that is exactly how it sounds)- and yes, gay, 'ghey' - if you're using it in a pejorative context- it doesn't matter how you spell it.

Ease up BPRP, he's a Comrade who made a mistake, I'm sure he knows what he did wrong. You have to give him a chance and not jump down his throat, he obviously hasn't been involved with the left for a decade or whatever, it's good to seem him emancipating himself from all this Capitalist crap that gets forced down your throat, homophobic language is just another one of those things that you need to emancipate yourself from, same with sexist language etc etc. I'm sure he wasn't deliberately trying to peddle homophobia, or defend it. Hell, I slip up sometimes on different stuff language wise, including homophobic language. I think we can safely say he's learned his lesson and will try not to slip up again

Well said and point taken. I'll watch my use of words from now on. It's good to see someone is prepared to shut me up. Sometimes it's necessary, as BPRP points out.

I hardly think i 'jumped down his throat' - and i think thingstocome's reply reflects that. If i jumped down his throat he would have got defensive, well he didn't (+karma to him!).
I didn't say that he was...
------------------
Well i'm not trying to 'shut you up' - merely explain why i was offended by what you said - i'm very glad to see that you took it in your stride and didn't become defensive as many young people do.
+karma!
